Principal's Message

Dear Parents ,

 

MJHS has completed another year of STAR testing!!  Kudos to all the students and staff for their tremendous efforts.  
 
The month of May brings with it a host of activities and events for parents and students alike.  I have posted the 8th grade promotion and activiy letter, the 6th and 7th grade Awards Ceremony details and permission slips for the Activity Day for easy reference.  Progress Reports will be handed out this Wednesday and with it comes the End of the Year LOP List.  Students on this list are not eligible to attend the End of the Year Activity Day.  These students should report to school as usual.  I have compiled a short list of all pertinent upcoming events for easy reference, and as always, please do not hesitate to call with questions or concerns.
 
 
            
            May 8             CJSF 8th grade students to UC Berkeley

            May 11           CJSF 7th grade students to UC Davis

May 18           Day at the Pool (Bull Pup Pride Day) 9:30 to 2:15 (pick up at Rankin Pool)

            May 23           MJHS Music Concert 7pm Auditorium

            May 24           Open House

            May 25           Minimum Day 11:50am dismissal for all students

            May 25           8th Grade students to AHS for day.  Drop off and pick up at AHS (8:30am to 11:50pm)

            June 1             All School Activity Day – Discovery Kingdom or Pool

            June 4             Locker Clean out all grades

            June 4             8th grade Promotion Party 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  @ Paddock Bowl in Pacheco

            June 7             Yearbooks distributed - 8th grade.

            June 8             Yearbooks distributed – 6th & 7th grades

            June 7             8th Grade class reports to AHS Field at 8:30am for practice; 10:30am walk back to campus

            June 7             6th Grade Award Assembly 12:50pm; 7th Grade Award Assembly 1:45pm

June 7             Promotion ceremony at Alhambra High School at 7:00 p.m.

            June 8             Last day of school.  Dismissal at 11:50 a.m.

Design Contest

The Martinez Education Foundation is holding a student T-shirt design contest to promote the Shell/MEF Run for Education.  The winner will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card and will be recognized at the race on October 7, 2012.
